The documents and images in the PALMM collections are provided in a variety of formats appropriate for electronic storage, transmission, and searching.
PALMM Web-deliverable formats include JPEG and PDF (Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format). These images are derived from higher resolution JPEG 2000 , MrSID , and TIFF source files.
JPEG images display automatically in any of the common Web browsers, such as Netscape 4.0 or higher, or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. Visual Collections users are advised to use Netscape 7.0 and higher or IE 5.5 and higher for optimal viewing.
Adobe Acrobat Reader software is required to view and print PDF documents. Acrobat is freely available for download via the Adobe website. System requirements vary.
