FAU HISTORICAL FILES, 1959-1964
This series consists of initial planning documents for FAU, including internal and published reports, correspondence, meeting minutes, biographical statements, and ephemera. Significant among the documents is a 1961 study prepared by Dr. J.A. Brumbaugh and the Charles J. Turck Report. All illustrate the innovative and experimental thinking common to higher education after WWII.
About The Florida Atlantic Univeristy Finding Aids Collection
Florida Atlantic University Libraries contribute electronic finding aids to the PALMM Archival Collections project from the many guides to manuscripts, personal papers, and university archives housed in the Special Collections & University Archives Department.
The Department began to build its special collections of primary source materials on the Boca Raton, Florida geographical area in the mid-1960s. Many of the collections were built by the efforts and support of the community and individuals surrounding FAU. It is hoped that a consortium can be built in the coming years with local historical societies and museums to preserve the diverse, eclectic, and rich culture of South Florida.
Please consult the Special Collections & University Archives home page for additional information of collections and services.
